Description
SUNSHINE supports the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism by promoting the uptake of EU Space data and services, including the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS), the Galileo Early Warning Satellite System (EWSS), Space Situational Awareness (SSA), and GOVSATCOM. Through targeted training, technical assistance, and exercises, the initiative strengthens disaster resilience and supports efficient future civil protection operations across EU Member States.
Results
- Supporting the organisation and delivery of training seminars, technical webinars, and simulation exercises for civil protection authorities and UCPM stakeholders.
- Producing in-depth analyses of the current uptake and use of EU Space data and services within the European civil protection ecosystem, including actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Producing and delivering communication materials, including social media content, leaflets, and information assets for various stakeholders.
- Developing a handbook and guidance materials on the accessibility and operational use of EU Space data and services to ensure the long-term impact of the activity
