Panama based Communication & International Programmes Consultant
As a Consultant – Communication & International Programmes based in Panama, you will be responsible for providing temporary support to one of ALSO Space’s main projects in the Latin America and Caribbean region, linked to the Earth Observation and disaster risk reduction fields. You may also be required to support other company projects for which your profile and expertise are needed.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and implementing communication strategies to foster outreach and user engagement.
- Support in the development of strong relationships with local/regional stakeholders to facilitate effective collaboration.
- Contribute to project implementation by documenting processes and maintaining records of outreach activities.
- Establish and maintain communication channels with national and regional stakeholders, documenting relationships and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Provide timely updates, feedback, and inputs for reporting and continuous improvement of communication activities.
- Organise and coordinate events, high-level dialogues and training sessions to promote stakeholder engagement and awareness.
- Support to logistics and branding for workshops, trainings, hackathons, and other events.
- Gathering audio-visual material for communication activities.
- Collaborate with team members to create compelling narratives which simplify complex scientific data for diverse audiences.
- Ensure broad awareness of the initiatives of the project.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, International Relations, Political Science or related fields.
- >3 years of experience in a similar role (familiarity with international or regional organisations would be an additional asset),
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English. French or Portuguese will be a plus.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, Instagram and X.
- Experience with CMS (i.e. Wordpress, Drupal, etc.) and mass email marketing tools.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant software tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- A quick learner, adaptable, organised and detail-oriented, able to deliver on time and to maintain high quality standards.
- Ability to work both independently and as an effective member of a decentralised team.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
